Can I reset "Default Options" and not lose data?

I have 2 LS-WTGL each with 2 1TB USB hooked up to it.  Identical paired 3TB Buffalo systems.   One of them has slowed down considerably taking 60 minutes to copy 730MB while the other one with the same file only takes 4 minutes.

The slow LS-WTGL system is slow with all three mapped shares (Share, USBDISK1 and USBDISK2).

I can run the NASNaviagtor and noticed that the slow LS-WTGL is version 3.08 while the quick one is version 3.07.  However I haven't updated the firmware that I can remember.    However I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday so that's not saying I didn't do one  ;-)

I have seen under the web admin the Maintenance--> Initilization-->  Restore defaults option.   If I use this will I loose the data on drives?

If the firmware is the issue how do I get 3.07 back on the slow LS-WTGL?

Is the correct direction or should I do something different.

Thanks and Happy New Year

Restoring to defaults will only reset the configuration, not wipe the data. Still, make sure you have a backup before updating the firmware, just in case.

I would start off by resetting it, if that doesn't help, update the firmware to the latest version.
