Changed IP Address and now can't locate/connect to Linkstation

1) No recent updates, just suddenly windows and Navigator2 unable to locate Buffalo NAS Linkstation LS-WXL.

2) Hooked NAS directly to my PC via ethernet and Navigator2 can read and access share. Decided to use web access to change the IP address of NAS to try to resolve issue #1 so can be located on network (little knowledge is dangerous thing).

3) Stupidly changed IP from DHCP generated 169.254.197.64 to arbitrary 10.0.0.120 (seemed like it was more in line with other devices on my network) - I didn't alter subnet mask which i believe was 255.255.0.0 (although my network I believe is 255.255.255.0).

Now I can't access NAS at all. Connecting directly to my PC - Navigator2 sees a NAS but cant access the drive to provide any info. Cant access via web (10.0.0.120 just hangs).  "Destination host unreachable" when attempting to ping 10.0.0.120.   HELP!

Have I screwed up my NAS?

Just reset it using the fucntion button so it can get a new DHCP IP.

Thank you. Thank you. I did little research to confirm that the factory reset would NOT effect the data on my drives and performed - it did the trick.  Navigator2 still can't find the NAS on my network but I can access it if I connect NAS directly to my PC (what a relief).  I guess i will try to do some more research on how to solve the network issue or will post a separate thread if still can't resolve.

I am grateful for those with vast expanses of grey matter who take the time to share their insight with those of us who are not as blessed.
