LS-XHL Firmware 1.10 available on Japan Site

I see that the 1.10 firmware for the XHL is available on the Buffalo Japan site as of 5/18 http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fbuffalo.jp%2Fdownload%2Fdriver%2Fhd%2Fls-xhl_fw.html%231&sl=ja&tl=en&hl=EN&ie=UTF-8">here.  The fixes include BitTorrent, iTunes server, and UPS updates.  I am still having issues with WebAccess through my iPhone and the non-existent Java Music Player (as mentioned in other threads).  3 Questions:

 

1. Does this update also address those issues, also?

2. When will this be released on the US site?

3. What would happen if I update my firmware to 1.10? I understand that this would not be officially supported.

 

Anyone want to be a guinea pig?

 

Edit: I see that 1.04 fixes the iPhone access issue.  What's the holdup for release in the US?

   I would like to know as well.  Seeing as it has been months since the XHL has released it still doesn't work as advertised on the box.

We do not recommend the use of international firmwares. However, in the event that a new firmware has been released in Japan that usually signifies another firmware release here. At least, that's the trend. Please continue to have patience.

Wouldn't the  GUI interface in the JP firmware be in Japanese?  I live in Japan and can buy the LS Pro just down the street but may end up paying more and waiting longer to get the US firmware by ordering overseas. I'm afraid the interface will be in Japanese and I will not be able to flash with the US firmware. Is the GUI interface "internatational" and are you able to select the preferred language?

 

I purchased a HD-PX here and cannot use the software that came with it  because I cannot read/write Japanese, nor can I d/l the US software (except encryption) because my serial number is invalid on the US website. As a result, I cannot d/l any software and the concern is the situation will be the same for the LS-XHL. Thanks.

The situation is the same for any of our devices.  All our devices are Region Specific.
