TS-Xe4.0TL/R5 Active Directory Issues

I have two TS-XE4.0TL/R5 devices.  I have successfully joined both to my active directory and have had no issues.  Then I upgraded to firmware v1.57.  After the upgrade I could only see the AD groups in the folder share, access restrictions section, but none of the AD users.

 

I called Buffalo tech support and after being directed to watch a youtube video on how to join an AD, I was was walked through a series of tasks on one of the two devices, which included deleting/recreating the computer account on my AD controller with the correct settings and privlidges, per the tech's instructions, verifying some device specific DNS entries on my DNS server, then re-join the directory.  The join worked fine as it always has, but again I can only see domain groups but not the users. 

 

At this point the tech had me upgrade one of the devices to v1.59, repeat the above steps, rejoin the AD.  This time, the device shows me the the list the AD groups, and now a partial list of users - not the full list.  It's better, but still not working correctly.

 

The Buffalo tech seems as puzzled as I am.  Does anybody have any ideas on how to resolve this or experienced similar?
