Difficulty with webacces

Hi, we recently installed an LS Pro Duo, in our office. the setup is the following:

1 internet modem-router

1 additional wireless router connected via LAN to the first one.

and then the NAS. when I test the web access in the office there is no problem and I can perfectly access the files. but when I try to access the NAS from my home I can´t get thru (I've tried with 2 dif. PC's. in "Internet Exp". and FFox and nothing.

 

could it be a problem with my home internet modem (Motorola cable modem) that might be blocking access ? or could it be a problem with the internal (office) modem set up?

what do I have to do to have access via internet?

ISP could be the issue.  opening  port 9000 on your router for the ip of the buffalo is a must.  Make sure you setup a folder for anonomyous for that level permission for the folder under web access folder setup.  Turn off https and upnp and turn on port 9000 in the gui.

thanks, I forwaded port 9000 on my router, and I had to specify port 9000 as well on the webadmin aplication, then reset the NAS. and the problem was solved.

it would be even better if it had the send email support, hopefully buffalo can host the smptp email server or give us other options (since all the servers I found require login)

we now have a perfect working NAS server. with Raid1, 5% HD used, and all 8 pcs, shared printer, and web access set up in under 2 days. thanks for the great product and easy setup.

We are glad that it is up and running for you.  I would like to request that you send this idea (hopefully buffalo can host the smptp email server or give us other options since all the servers I found require login) to the Idea Exchange Lounge so it can be looked at for a feature request.
