Help with station duo with new imac and raid modes

Hi all,

So i was given from work 2 buffalo NAS/Raid machines that are no longer needed

1 is a USB station duo and one is a network Nas.

I have a problem with the station duo:(not tested the other one yet)

So when I connect it to my new IMAC via the USB and I`m on Mac software 12.1 it sees the drive as only a 2TB and not the two 2TB drives that i was hopping to use.
The raid tool that you can download is not supported pass it seems OS 10.5. So that needs a update? Nothing on site to help? So i did it the way via the button on the unit, followed the guide as in hold button, pick red and green as normal and when it confirms and reboots it still only sees it as 1 drive.

SO i took the drives out and put in a double hard drive unit i have and can format 1 of the drives, but the other just sits there for ages and then a error comes.

the unit wont make it 2 drives. Any help? Ideas?

RAID1 will be probably setup as default so that's why you're only seeing a single volume but without knowing the model number it's pure speculation.

yes that more than likely right on raid 1
but surely changing via the button on back should of set this to what was needed aka Normal
