Jus got a new TeraStaion Pro II ( TS-HTGL/R5 F/W 1.33) that I use as a fileserver. It backs up on 2 USB disks.

The problem is it will not start a sceduled backup.

I have defined 2 backup jobs, 1 for each backupdisc.Job1 (USB disc1) starts 30 minutes before job2(USB disc2). The jobs are configured to "Ignore Errors and Proceed with Future Backups"

I only connnect 1 of the two usb discs at atime.

When I run  a job "imedeately" it runs , produses a logfile and sends me a mail.

The sceduled jobs produses no logfile and no mail

Why does this not work?

And, a question:

Can these USB drives containing backup be read /restored by a windows pc in some way?

Regards

With any backups to a usb hd you need to first format it to xfs through the gui of the buffalo.   Once you do that it should become a simple target for a backup job.  To read the data on there you need a linux box. or a windows program like "xfs or ufs exploree" (third party softare not supported or recommended by the buffalo.)  XFS is not a file system that windows will recognize natively.

Hi

It is backing up to usb disc when a job starts as "immediately", but not "scheduled". Will a scheduled job handle the disc different than a job that starts immediately?
