Subtitle doesn't work over DLNA on Linkstation Pro

Hi

 

I'm able to stream .AVI files without problems to my Samsung C-5500 BluRay over DLNA. 

 

The thing is that subtitles in the .srt (which is fully supported in my player) doesn't work at all. I tried to use several .AVI and .SRT files, the problem persists.

 

I have a Linkstation Pro LS-XHL 1.0 with latest firmware (1.31). 

 

I'm aware that DLNA implementation in Samsung is faulty, but the subtitle over DLNA works just fine in other NAS manufacturer (Synology) to Samsung, so I'm sure it has nothing to do with my Samsung player.

Subtitles are not supported for DNLA with this unit.

Are there any plans in the near future for this sub-title issue, also for MKV files? Was very disappointed after buying my LS-WXL and then finding out that this is not sopported.

Its not just a gold idea. Its a selling point.
If I knew that srt was not suported, I would not have bought it..
Fact is, if I can't find a way too stream subtitles, I will return the Link Station Duo.

I voted for it in the Idea Exchange - the more people that vote for it, the more likely it is to be included in future firmware releases. Please tell all your friends to vote for it.

hello, we are in 2020 and I have the BUFFALO LS520D and I can't get subtitles on samsung tv. after so long there has not yet been a firmware update to resolve this issue?
