Raid error with no Raid

 I have been recieving the following message from my orginal Terastation HD-HTGL, it happens at random times but mainly in the morning about an hour after it wakes up. The problem is that I don't have a raid setup, I am using the drives indivually. So is this a real problem? Is the message generically refering to a RAID when it should be a disk? Which disk would it be?

TeraStation Alert - HDD Error

STORAGE - HDD has an error.

RAID error occurred at: 2009/09/11 18:40:48 Disk Error: (03:01) WRITE sector:

RAID1 Disk-writting error occurred. Please exchange the disk(s).

Though the RAID will operate as degrade(trouble recovery) mode, it is recommended to take data backup and exchange the disk(s) as soon as possible.

Your best bet would be to perform the following:

 

1. Access the Web UI and go to Disk Management->RAID Setup and click on the icon next to RAID Array 1. Post back which drive is unchecked if any.

 

2. Go to the same area in the Web UI (Disk Management->RAID Setup) and perform a RAID check. Do this only if you find none of the drives unchecked in the RAID Array setup.

 

3. If all else fails perform the exact instructions of the notification and backup your data. Better safe than sorry.
