Wow, do you always give up this easily? Have you tried asking for help, before talking trash? For all you know it could be user error.

I do not believe that this error could be user error. Just following the instructions crash NAS. Believe me, I tried everything!

Let's check History!

1. Bought NAS, simbly becuse of cheaper price comparing to others

2. Follow all instruction (normally not), change IP address, assign Users and Share folders, I also tried Bittorrent for  few hours, but I switch it off, because I do not need it and also tried web access via buffalonas.com, but without success (after 10 minutes, so I decided not tu use it, because I do not need it at all)

3. Upload approx. 300 GB of my work. Everything was fine. Shoot down the unit and change te location from one room to another.

4. I switch it on and using it for some days (2 or 3) and usit it as normal user (upload, download files.... nothing special). On the end of every day I switch it off.

5. One day I get error, that something is wrong with RAID ARRAY (I do not remember it anymore I I do not have notices, because I am not at NAS unit at the moment)

6. I check every possibilities, but nothing. I was also not able to log in web admin (as I told I didn get complet login form). I try with FF, IE, Safari on at least 5 different computers (Win XP, Win Vista and Win 7). The same result everywhere. Once and I do not know whay I get a chance To Log in, but when I log in (Ok, password was setted on default value) I was not able to usi it, because there was only menu structure (and submenu also). That was only chance to see inside of web admin. After that after approx. 6 hours - nothing. I tried with forum and all internet.

7. So, someone recoment for update firmware. I did it. I was expecting to lose all my data, but I was prepare on this. So, I update to FW 1.20. It was like in fary tale. Everything worked again (without data). RAID was setted on 0 (as I remember). I setted up NAS (IP CHANGE, USERs, Folders... nothing else and Yes, I reorganise everything on RAID 10). I try to upload some files, download it, deleted... etc. It worked. Great. After few hours when I try to change some stting I was not able to log in web aceess admin (I was even not able to input password and username, but file sharing worked as it should). After a while i get red display again with message: RAID ARRAY E14 (Can't mount) - (Oh yes, I switched off, just to see how it work - so I get ERROR).... so I do all sequence once again (FW, Settings.... etc.)

8. Now I am formatting whole NAS (It takes very long time approx 4 times per 200 minutes) and I will try once again, no I did not give up, but simply I do not trust to stability of this unstable unit.

That's more or less everything (As I remember).

So, who will believe in stability of that unit (I also believe, that this failure is only with my unit, but it is. Paying that much money, comparing to cheaper BUFFALO unit... you should expect that unit will work).

I have also one older NAS unit, made on normal computer using LINUX and after 4 years still working without any problem.

No, I do not believe that this is TRASH, but serious problem. I spend almost two days, and now I do not have anything. People buying some equipment to us it and not to learn its mistakes and errors otherwise they will build theri own systems (NAS for example). Somenone need that kind of equipment for use and not to play DIVX or similar movies just for fun. If I will use it just for fun... then it will we different story.

Regards
