Terastation Pro email notification

When I try to set up my Terastation Pro for email notification I get the following message:

"The entered SMTP Server Address includes invalid characters.
Enter up to 50 alphanumeric characters only."

 

This is the SMTP server I am trying to use: smtp.east.cox.net

 

The address looks valid to me. Any ideas?
