I read on the web that a usb drive connected to the BUFFALO HS-DH320GLmust be formatted as FAT32.  I have checked the docs but it doesn't mention any such restriction. Can anyone confirm/refute this?

kevin

It all depends on what you want to do with the unit!

NTFS- Read only

FAT32- Read and NAS Backups

XFS- Read/Write and NAS Backups

mmmm not sure I can see a demand for a usb drive that can't be wriiten to.

As I need NTFS because I have large files to backup I will look for another drive.

kevin

XFS is the support file system (as this is what the NAS is formatted as), in fact it is more reliable with high limitations than NTFS. And like I stated in the first reply, it supports Read/WRITE and NAS Backup
