WebAccess Android App not auto-uploading SD Card Content only 'device storage'

I have my linkstation setup and working fine.  Also have the Android WebAccess Application running on my Android Phone (v6.01).  Access is working and I'm able to access the drive via Wi-Fi or cellular network.  I have auto uploading of pictures turned on in the Android Application but its only uploading content that resides on 'Device Storage' not from 'SD Card Storage'.  My phone automatically saves pictures to the SD card and the auto-uploading feature of WebAccess will not upload photos stored on the phones SD card.  Is there a newer version available?  Perhaps a setting I have missed somewhere?

The upload feature will only work for internal storage, there is no way to change this.

Last post was in 2016, it's nearly 2022 now, is this still the case? I use my sd card on my android device to store photos because internal storage is garbage - I need to be able to backup from the sd card.
