Hello

I have a TeraStation Pro TS-TGL/R5 and I'm unable to change most of the options within the settings page. For example, the current date is wrong and time zone is set to 9+ GMT, and I'd like to change that.. What am I missing here?

Ah I see. Thank you.

I was wondering if it's possible to upgrade my hard drives to larger capacities, would I need to make sure all four are the same size, what's the maximum size I can go up to? Is there any other specifics I need to make sure of, before I splash out on HDD's.

I guess I cannot insert a 500GB HDD with the other three remaining at 250GB? However can I go with 1TB x4? Would that be OK?

Well, thanks for the link. Have any more examples or even maybe just a simple answer if you already know? It's as if there's some detailed manual I've not read that you think I should have already seen. And I actually did read that previously, my questions were rather to narrow down what kind of hard drives work. The link you posted is in 2014... Come on now, no need to be so cryptic.

from the link
QuoteThe Terastation cannot accomodate 2K sector size HDDs which HDDs larger than 2TB use.

davo writes 2K sector
correct is 4K sector

That I understood from your posts, but I have a Seagate ST3500312CS (500GB), the manual states Bytes per sector is 512 (https://www.seagate.com/staticfiles/support/docs/manual/ce/Pipeline%20HD%20Series/100529372j.pdf), yet I can't seem to successfully format it. I get:

QuoteThe Disk Format has failed.
Confirm each disk`s status via the LEDs on the front panel, reboot the TeraStation and restart the Disk Format process.

After doing as it states, still nothing. front panel says unable to mount HD1.

I've tried also removing all drives, leaving just the Seagate and then in EM mode installing 1.04 firmware (TSPro-1.04-0.01-CharFix). After update it still fails to format the disk.

WD2500JS-55NCB1 was the previous drive. Once I get a drive that works, I'll fill the other bays with the same drive.
