My LS-CH1.0tl failed during firmware update.  Now I get orange code I25 - two short and 5 long, for "firmware update".
It does not get an IP address.  I can't ping it, and the NASNAVI program can't find it.
I tried TFTP boot:  power down, set my IP address to 192.168.11.1, hold function button, power up, press function button 10 seconds.  I see no traffic via wireshark - no attempts by the LS to reach out to TFTP server at the 192.168.11.1 address.  Can't ping it.

I also booted laptop in Safe Mode with networking, and assigned fixed IP address 192.168.11.1 so that there are no antivirus or firewall active (or maybe firewall was still active?  Will try that again).

I'm at the point of ripping out the drive and buying some windows XFS Explorer to read the drive.

Please help!  Thanks in advance.

I downloaded the firmware image and the TFTP program TFTP Boot Recovery and it reports that it's accepting requests.  Listening on 192.168.11.1:69.  LS-CH1 is directly connected to the laptop.  IP address is fixed at 192.168.11.1

It does not appear that this model supports EM mode, or the TFTP boot recovery method?  After holding function button down, power-up, press and hold, it keeps blinking.  While still holding it down and hoping for a solid blue LED, the orange LED enters the 2 long, 5 short mode.

I have the update files from ls_series-v174 archive.  It says it supports LS-CHL.  My unit is clearly marked LS-CH1.  Do I have the wrong archive?  It seems that LS-CHL and LS-CH1 are synonymous?

I put my serial number into the support site and it directed me to the v174 archive so it should be the right one.

this sets you password to factory default.

only with E06 you can start FTP by pressing the fuction button

the EM-Mode is automaticcaly activated if the firmware is demaged

but it is possible to hang on blue blinking

my way to solve this is to lete all files on the first partition.
do not delete the partition, only the mounted content

Firmware is not damaged really but hung in the 2-5 blinking mode.  So it's "alive".  And it sounds like from that state there's NO WAY to fix it without removing the drive to rescue the data only.

Its stuck updating the firmware. If you need to recover the data then you will need to do this first by removing the disk.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
