Use Windows Server built-in admin with TeraStation ES - TS-XE4.0TL/R5

I have joined my TS to the domain successfully but can't seem to give the domain admin access even after adding the domain admins group to have read/write access.  I also can't see the built-in admin account to add as a user.  Did quite a bit of searching but didn't see anything that helped me out.  Any suggestions would help.
