Does anyone know if it's possible to replace the power supply in an older model Terrastation.  It's the older silver colored model.  It has the four drive 1TB config.

The fan in the bottom of the powersupply is failing and making lots of noise.  Other than that the unit works great.

Tech support told me there was no way of replacing the power supply, and that I had to just buy an entire new terastation.

There must be a way of replacing the power supply or at least the fan inside it.

 Any help is appreciated.

Do you know if the newer units come with a fanless ps?  i would hate to buy a new one if I'm at risk of having the same problem again...

No, we do not support disassemling the Terastation.  The were never meant to be taken apart.  Sorry for the inconvenience.
