Disk 1 Removed after reinstalling firmware 1.71

Hi all, Long story short - I reinstalled the firmware version 1.71 to try and reset LS-WRXL/R1 Series and now disk 1 of 2 is saying its "Removed". Is there a way to recover Disk 1? Is all the data lost now?

Any advise on if this is fixable would be appreciated.

What RAID mode were you using?

Thanks for you reply Davo, I'm not actually sure what the drives were set to use before hand. Now it seems that the linkstation is seeing both drives and Drive 2 I has the option buttons active but Drive one is selectable but the option buttons are not active and the Array is "Not Configured" and I'm assuming that Drive 1 may have different Array information maybe??
