I cant find anything in the GUI or documentation to get the NAS to do this. It hangs up the server launch if there is an extended power failure and the NAS is off. Can anyone help me? I travel a lot and cant push the start button remotely.

Its not even clear if a "smart" UPS will automatically initiate a boot command.

This unit can sync to a UPS and boot up automatically when AC power is restored.

Thanks for the response Texturtle. Is there a specification for a "smart" standard? A list of compatible UPS's?

Ok, I purchased a C1000 smart UPS. It only has a usb port for smart serial connection.

Does the Terastation require that UPS smart connection be though the serial port or can it connect through one of the USB ports?
