Reset buttons in TeraStation Pro TS-XL/R5

Hi folks, I have several problems on the resets buttons on TeraStation Pro TS-XL/R5. 

 

1. In the manual, it states that " With the TeraStation powered on, hold down this buttonuntil it beeps (about 5 seconds) to reset the TeraStation's IPaddress and password to the factory defaults", does it mean that no data inside TeraStation will be lost ?

 

2. If the functionality has been disabled from within the Web Admin interface, what could I do if I really need to reset the password as I have forgotten the password ? Thanks for that.

I think you're looking at the wrong manual. The reset process for this unit is to 

 

1. Hold down the power button for 8 seconds. The Terastation will shut down after about 30 seconds.
2. While holding down the function button, press the power button. The Terastation will power on and the function LED will begin to flash blue.
3. While the function LED is still flashing, hold the function button down for six seconds

The only thing it resets is the password and ip address. No data is lost. And If you disable the option to reset the admin password, then there is no way to get back into it.

I have followed these steps but the password was not reset. only the ip address changes.

Follow these instructions, it will reset the ip and password

 

Instructions

1. • Open the front panel of your TeraStation Pro/Pro II/Pro II Rackmount/Live/Pro II iSCSI/Pro II iSCSI Rackmount device.

   • Press and hold the red button at the left corner of the LCD screen for 10 seconds. This will reset the password.

   • Press and hold the "Init" button behind your TeraStation HD-H/HS-D device for 10 seconds. The Diag LED light will start flashing. The password is reset.
