Backing up PC to LS210 Error - Insufficient Disc Space

Hi, new to Forum. Fairly unsophisticated user, simply need is to do periodic  backups from Vista using its "Backup and Restore Center"  , which I have done successfully before and those older backup files still appear  on the LS210.  However recently  process ends in "Last backup did not complete", a shadow copy could not be created....there is not enough space on the disc(ox80070070)".  Im assuming this refers to the LS210 disc.  I have 1.5TB left on the LS210 and all prior backups combined take up only 330GB and I havent added much to that. Attempted to use the usual destination folder where previous backups appear and also tried creating a new destination folder. They are all set as public folders.  Have I inadvertently partitioned or limited  folders or something?  Did see the "Set Quotas" setup option on unit but have not set any. On  PC I am able to manually copy /cut folders from  my "C" drive and paste into the LS210 drive. Also the Buffalo unit appears as both an "L" and an "M" drive on my Computer drives list, each with exactly the same used space and free space shown. Not sure if that matters. Lastly for a long time the unit front light glowed solid red despite several reboots and suddenly  midway through these  latest failed backups it is suddenly solid white again. Im trying to move  from Vista to a Windows 10 machine but worried about inability to backup old machine. Any ideas? Thanks.

If the error is that a shadow copy couldn't be created it is likely that the lack of space is on the drive on the computer.

Thanks texturtle. After further investigation the issue  is likely to be with windows. Others have reported similar problems  where there is abundant space on the external  drive to accommodate the PC folders being backed up but  Windows Back up and Restore utility  sees insufficient capacity on that external drive. There are proposed  fixes but they are too  technical for me to risk them.  So I am going to install a third party backup app on the old PC and try that. failing which Ill just transfer my important individual data folders from the old to the new computer and reinstall apps one at a time. from their original discs or the web.  In summary the problem seems to be with Windows, not Buffalo.
