Linkstation Quad stuck in Emergency Mode

My Linkstation Quad LS-QVL/E is stuck in emergency mode, and I can't access it via my web browser as usual.

I've got green lights on all four drives, and a solid blue light on the power. I've restarted it, but no change. I can see it in NAS Navigator2, but can't find a way to get it out of emergency mode and/or access the data. Help?

I'm on a Mac, by the way -- I've seen a couple possible solutions that involve flashing the firmware that require using Windows. Will this work? Is this the only option? Thanks for any help.

This version doesn't have a display, so no error code. And the lights aren't blinking, which is the way it will show error codes. It looks perfectly normal, just won't work.

Does NAS Navigator report any problems?  Normally it should show what error it has if it's in EM.

Download the below file, unzip it and run the .dmg

http://www.buffalo-technology.de/Download_t3f.php?elif=%2Fuserfiles%2Ffile%2Fdownloads%2FLS-series-fw171_fwmac.dmg.zip

Just tried this. Downloaded, unzipped fine. When I opened update.app it seemed to immediately crash/close with no windows, errors, or anything else happening. No change shown in NAS Navigator2. Suggestions?

If it crashes, try the Windows version of the firmware on a Win machine obviously.

Mr.Lmnop

Thanks for the hints... I did end up running the firmware update via a Win machine, and it seems to have resolved the issue. My Linkstation is back online, with all data intact!
