Hello,

I have a TS-XEL/R5 with 4 disks of 2T.

One of the disks gives me a failure now. I have been looking on the internet for a replacement disk, but I can't find the exact disk.
Seagate Barracuda Green ST2000DL001 2TB 5900RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5"

I'm thinking of replacing all four disks but where can I find which disks are good?
Can I replace all four disks with 3T size?
ex.: SEAGATE NAS HDD ST3000VN000 3 TB 5900RPM 64MB Cache SATA 3

The data is not an issue since I already copied all data to an external 8T disk.

Thanks in advance for your answers ...

Christophe

It doesn't need to be the same disk, just the same specs.

You can replace all 4 disks if you want, the results would vary, it might go into EM mode in which case you apply a firmware update or it might go to E06 (lost boot image) in which case you need the TFTP files.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

You can't replace all 4 drives and retain the data. As far as replacing just the failed drive, any drive of the appropriate capacity should work.

Thanks for the answers. The data is not an issue. I have a backup of the things I want to keep.

I was thinking of replacing all four disks with higher capacity disks ... from 2T --> 3T per disk

The specs of the current disks are
2TB 5900RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3

I would like to replace them with
3TB 5900RPM 64MB Cache SATA 3

This should work fine.

I would recommend replacing the drives one at a time and formatting each new drive after it's installed, that way the OS gets put on the new drives.
