I have a LS420 setup as a RAID1 connected to a Mac running Yosemite 10.10.3.

I want to backup the archive on it to the cloud and have tried using both CrashPlan and SpiderOak services. Both are presenting the same weird problem though. When the backup is running some folders start to get renamed (see following screenshot - the final folder on the list there has been renamed to a seemingly random string).

The support from either CrashPlan or SpiderOak say their software shouldn't be doing this and can't tell me why it is happening. Is it possible the NAS itself is responsible in some way? Any advice in trouble shooting would be greatly appreciated.
