are drives from a duo raid 1 if removed for long term storage accessible by a computer in pluged directly into a sata port, or is there proprietary software in the duo?

Eastmarch

It would be accessible if you plugged it into a Linux computer, or any computer capable of mounting an XFS volume.
**A single copy of data, even on a RAID array, is NOT a backup! Hard drive failure is not a question of IF, but WHEN! Don't take my word for it, take Google's!**
