I have a Linkstation Live NAS unit ls-chl v2 and a 3tb usb external drive. When i connect it to the nas it can see it but not use it. If i try and format using any of the file system options it shows an error.

is there a limitation on the max size usb drive. The drive is usb 3.0, backwards compatible with 2.0

the usb drive works fine in my pc formatted as ntfs.

the nas works with my old usb 250gb drive

I can now answer my own question.

Upgraded the firmware from 1.60 to 1.70 and now it can access the 3TB external usb drive
