I had to send back a defective external usb disk that was attached to my teraserve buffalo as "usbdisk2". I have received my new external usb drive, but upon attaching it, it is now "usbdisk3". How do i remove the old disconnected usb disk, and make the new one "usbdisk2". I have a complex backup set up to the usbdisk2 share.

Login to web console.

On the left-side column, click on Disk Management.

Click on USB settings.

See if you can see the previous USB disk name.

Click on it.

Then click on "Remove USB Disk Assignment".

It will say "USB Setup Complete".
