I had a power failure on Sunday and now cannot access my TeraStation Model Number HD-H1.0TGL/RS.  I can use the client utility and see what the IP and subnet address, but it shows no firmware version.  I can ping the IP address.  I have tried using the INIT button but still only get the same result.  Per my reading on the forums and other places I have tried to install firmware (the file that I get downloaded when I select my model is HGHTGL2_19.zip but there is no TSUpdate.ini, but a NASUpdater.exe file.  When I try to do the update it will copy and install the files but the last step is it trying to run the script.  At that point the intstall fails and I still cannot access the terastation.  Any ideas?

Thanks

Mike

Yo Mike,

Are there any blinking LEDs or LEDs in red?

I think you may have downloaded the wrong firmware.

Your unit is a HD-HTGL but the firmware you've downloaded is HGHTGL.

Pls verify that you have downloaded firmware for HD-H1.0TGL/R5

Thanks for the response.  There are no blinking LED's.  The status lights on each drive are solid green, and the power light is solid green.  I tried the update you linked to, and while that got further than any of the others, it still said it failed at the end trying it all the ways the instructions said.  Any ideas?

Can you connect the Terastation directly to a computer and see the IP address using nas navigator?

Let me know what is the IP address?

You can force the firmware on those older units, extract the firmware, for the .exe file create a shortcut in the same directory => right click the shortcut => Properties, where is says target type "[space]/force" and click OK and run the shortcut.

Do this with a direct connection from the TS to the PC with a static IP set on the PC to match the range the TS is on with all anti virus and firewall software disabled.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

I can see the IP address in Client Utility and it is 192.168.1.110.  When I resent with INIT it always defaults back to 192.168.1.110

Thanks I will try that.  Just to clarify, the force will leave the data in tact correct and just flash the firmware?
