invalid password character

Hello,

 

     I am trying to join a LinkStation unit to our domain.  The administrator password contains an ampersand.  I get a 'password contains invalid character' error message.  Is there a problem with an ampersand?

   "&" is taken as a special character on the linkstation. It will not join the domain with the current password.
