I have a buffalo dh500gl. About 2x per week it shuts off and starts beeping. I press the power button and it stops beeping. if i press it again it will turn back on.

Does anyone know what is happening?

Tks,
Eric

When the drive starts to beep, do you see an error light on the front of the device?

No. No lights on when it stops.

My drive does the same thing.  No lights when it beeps and stops.  Is there a solution to this?  I've updated the firmware to 2.11.  Thanks.

From my diagnostic on this Linkstation Live.

You need to check the fan behind the unit.

If its not under warranty, you can open it up and clean the fan.

My unit stops every couple of weeks with a beeping sound.

I've updated firmware and same problem appeared.

I found out the fan did not spin even when it gets very hot so I just opened it up (warranty has already expired), cleaned the fan with WD40 and it has not given me any problems after that!
