client manager 5 not working

Hi - I just installed a wzr-600dhp but can't seem to get the client manager V to work.  I am running 64-bit windows 7.  windows firewall is on.  have tried turning it off and restarting the client manager, didn't seem to do anything.  does the client manager expect a certain IP?  I am using the less used 10.0.0.1 -is that a problem?  The icon in the tray shows a little red circle with a line through it.  when I try to click on it, it shows a small box at the bottom right of the screen that says client manager V version 1.5.4, but you can't do anything with it.  any and all help would be so appreciated.
