421e NAS - Can itself be used as external HDD & are 6TB WD red compatible?

Hey!  New here... Just bought a 421e NAS.  Wondering if it can be used as an external HDD through it's usb port... also, are 6TB WD Red HDD's compatible?  I don't want to spend that much if they are not... Thanks!

I would think the 6TB would be compatible but i won't know. Best bet is to call tech support and see what they say. Also No it can not be used as an external drive.
