I purchased the above unit in February 2011.

It runs on a network (gigabit) with several computers accessing it during the day. They are a mix of Windows 7 and Windows XP computers

It has performed fine until today when I noticed it was no longer visible on the network.  I checked the unit and the BLUE Power light is flashing.  The manual says this is the drive starting or shutting down but it never stops and is not visible on the network in Windows explorer OR in the NAS Navigator 2 program.

How do I get thgis drive back on the system?

If I do a reset, do I lose all the data on the drives (they are set as a RAID mirror - duplicating - RAID 1)? (function button -power on)

What else can I do?

I do not know the firmware revision as I cannot access the drive.  There are two S/N printed on the bottom if that helps;

c-S/N 1LSWXL101114742

S/N 95831001206502

Thanks for any help you can give me.

You need to follow the reset process. The reset process will not delete any of the data that is on the unit. If that does not help then you need to try FAQ 3 of 5 to try and restore access to the unit. That FAQ is pinned to the top of the storage section.

Thanks for the info.  I reset the drive per the instructions and then updated the firmware which fixed the problem.

NOTE:  I had a problem with FAQ 3 of 5.  I intended to follow the instructions but the following line is a problem:

-  Your NAS model's TFTP boot image which you can find ftp://24.153.165.234/array1/share/nas-recovery/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">here

When I try to follow the link, the system is unable to connect to the ftp site. I get a message that I cannot connect to the site.

I chose to try updating the firmware after the drive came back up in EM and was succesful in getting it back on the network.

thanks

I was using IE 9.

I tried an FTP client and couldn't make that work either.

I have just tried Firefox and that works OK.  Though that is an issue as we do not use firefox because of incompatibilities with some other programs we are running.

I will remember for next time.

I have the same problem, but the reset process did not work for me.

Where can I find this FAQ 3 of 5?
