Buffalo DAS HD-RQSSU2/R5 Reset RAID config password

Our client inherited a Buffalo DAS with the above model number.  Currently, the drives are configured in JBOD mode (or "Normal Mode" as the RAID Settings Utility calls it). 

When attempting to change the config to RAID-5 under Configuration -> Change Disk Structure, we get prompted for a password.  Unfortunately, the client does not know the password.  I don't see a reset button anywhere on this unit and the documentation does not mention anything about a password. 

I've seen under many of the closed topics methods for resetting passwords for other products (i.e.: SecureLockManager for Buffalo encrypted drives, LSrecovery for NAS devices), but this is a DAS, so there is no web interface. 

Any other options for resetting this drive configuration's password?

as far as i know there is no way to reset the password. You can try the following. Take out the drives and format them in windows and then unpartition them. Then try again as the drives hold the password i believe. Not the unit nor the software.

You can even try using windows manager to format them but i dont think it will work. its worth a shot.

install secure lock ware and reset the password from there

Password was installed with Raid software not secure lock. If it was secure lock it wouldn't ask him for the password. it would just wipe the data.
