Hi,

I would like my client to access files I've posted in an FTP folder on our Terastation TS3400D. I've created a new user and password, and given that user right to the new shared FTP folder. I've followed the instructions in the manual.

However, when I type ftp://<user>:<pw>@<ip address>/<port> into a browser on a computer not on our network, it doesn't work.

Can someone please walk me through how to set up an FTP folder which my clients outside the office can access with an id and pw?

The manual fails to explain successfully how to do this.

Thanks,
Derek

Did you set the port forwarding rules in your router? also i believe its a ":" and not a / after the ip address.

Here is what i mean.

ftp://user:password@192.168.1.X:1648

Also you didnt state if it works on your network. Also what page number on the manual did you follow so i can see what you did.
Units I own: TS-XL, TS-WXL, LS-WVL, TS-RXL,  TS5400, TS-RVHL,
