is redundant access to same account from different PC allowed?

I have a LS421DE with one large disk.
I have several PCs that are using local backup software every day.  I am getting regular lockups of the NAS that won't reboot with the switch; I have to remove the power cord to restart.
I am suspecting that having the computers use the same admin account to access the NAS may be the problem.
I know I am likely to hear "do not use the admin acct" and "it's not a good idea to allow multiple locations log into the same account", but is this a known bad?
thanks
Matt
