Linkstation Pro Duo setup problem

We bought a Linkstation Pro Duo LS-WTGL/R1 (1TB) a couple of weeks ago.  Had some trouble setting it up, and the Tech Support indicated that the disks were not formatted when it shipped.  (We wish to use the RAID1 mode with duplicate disks.)

 

I was able to get the first disk formatted, and moved some data onto it, but the NASNavigator2 screen shows the second Hard Drive as unformatted.  When I go to the Web Admin screen, and to Disk Management, the RAID Array 1 Status is: Not Configured.  The Disk Information has the Disk 1 status, but the Disk 2 status is: disconnected.

 

When I go to the RAID Setup, RAID Array 1 shows as "not configured".  Under Disk Management, RAID Settings show RAID1, and below that on the screen, Disk 1 shows as "Standard", but Disk 2 shows as Not Configured, and the check box is unaccessible for Disk 2.

 

When I select RAID1 at the top of this screen, and choose "Setup RAID Array" button, it takes me to the "Building RAID Array" screen, but nothing happens.

 

Have called tech support, but was on hold for a very, very long time. 

 

What we want is to have this drive set up and accessible on out wireless network, as well as from the web.  We want to store data on the first drive, and have it automatically back up to the second drive (duplicate data). 

 

We're not techs and don't do this type thing very often.  If you could provide clear, step by step instructions to get us up and running, we would appreciate it.  Thank you.

Sorry about the late reply. Since disk 2 is showing as disconnected, the drive itself appears to be defective. Please call our support line to set up a warranty replacement. If you are in the US or Canada, you can also PM me and I'll call you.
