Terastation Pro II - system error e04

Hi,

Terastation Pro II - model TS-RHTGL - with 4 discs using RAID 5

We had a power outage due to a storm and since then the Terastation hasn't been able to be booted. When we boot it it says "system error e04, could not load kernel"

I called tech support and they pointed me to this forum, and had me follow the procedures stickied at the top. I can boot it into Emergency Mode so that's not a problem. I've tried running a forced update but that still results in the e04 error.

Here's exactly what i've tried:
1. Boot the TS into Emergency Mode by holding down the power button while it's booting

2. On a server that's on the same network open TSUpdater

3. Right-click the top and choose Debug

4. Choose "force update"

5. Click OK

6. Click Update

Then the update gets applied, and the TS restarts. It says FW updating, and then
system now shutting down.

When we boot it back up it says "Loading kernel" for something like 5 minutes (maybe more), and then eventually says "System error e04 - could not load kernel", and has a red light.


We've tried this procedure several times. We've tried removing 1 disc, then 2. The only time it has booted without an error is when we removed 2 out of 4 discs. I was then
able to login to the web interface, but the RAID couldn't be restructured, i'm assuming because there were only two discs in there.

Any ideas how we can get this working again?
