TeraStation HD-HTGL/R5 and a PlayStation 3

Hi all,

 

I've been through all the menu options I can think of and I am still scratching my head. I'm hoping someone on here can help.

 

I have a Buffalo TeraStation HD-HTGL/R5 1TB NAS, currently running firmware 1.12 - which I think is out of date. I have downloaded 2.16 but want to back it up before I install.

Anyway, I have added a PS3 to my list of gadgets and wanted to be able to access my music and video's on the NAS over the wireless. However, the PS3 just says 'No media servers were found'

 

Is there anyway I can get these two devices to work together?

 

I appreciate any help you can give.

   The 2.16 firmware does add the PCast option (Media Server options) to the original Terastation unit. When you update the firmware, then it will be added to the main web interface as an option. Once enabled, it should show up on your network as a media server.

Thanks for the reply. I have finally upgraded the firmware to 2.16 and the PCast options are the same as they were on 1.12. I still can't see the NAS from the PS3. I'd appreciate it if anyone has any other idea's to make these things work.

On the PS3 under settings -> network settings -> Media Server Connection (set to enable)

 

I believe that is all I did to see my linkstation (ls-xhl) with the PS3 that is.

Yeah, i've checked that too. It's all enabled and I should be able to see the NAS, but when I search, nothing. If I use Azereus (Vuze) on my PC, it finds that.

 

I was hoping this was going to be really straight forward!!!

andy3660, unfortunately the original Terastation does not support DLNA streaming, so it will not work with the PS3.
