I've had this HD for a few years and I haven't used it simply because I've had so much trouble trying to use it with my Mac. I thought I would see if I could get it to work again and haven't found a solution. What is the best way that I can set this up so I can use my computer with it?

smb should work, AFP however will not work.

Thank you for your assistance. I don't know the IP address. I've tried to ping it by putting possible IP's, but nothing. I haven't used this HD for sometime simply because I can not reach it. I have initialized it, which maybe I should have done years ago.

Install the nas navigator and you should be able to get the IP

Not getting anything. I may need to try an USB, if I can find one.

what do you mean not getting anything? Do you have the Nas Navigator installed? What way is the Terastation connected? Any error LEDs on it?

I have connected the NAS with an ethernet directly into the computer. The NAS Navigator is installed. Light on the Power & Link/Act, but not on the DIAG.

So does the Nas Navigator detect it at all? If not then try connecting it directly to the MAC via ethernet and see if the Nas navigator can detect it then.

I've done all of that. I've even tried different ethernet cables, just in case one didn't work. I have not installed the installer for the drive itself, since I have a mac... I wonder if that may be the problem. But there isn't a mac installer as far as I can tell. The NAS Navigator doesn't show it.
