Replacing drive mapping, from Windows server to Buffalo

We have a small domain server running Windows Small Business Server 2008.  Presently the server has two partitions: C: is for the system and D: is for data.  The attached PCs map to folders on the data partition, typically having three or four mappings on each.
Now, having bought a TeraStation with loads of disk space the thought is to move all the data onto the TeraStation.  Ideally I would like to configure it on the network (no problem with that), move the data from the present drive D: on to the TeraStation (no problem with that), change the server data drive letter to something else(no problem with that) and change the TeraStation to D: and configure somehow to allow the PCs to see the data there.  This would avoid having to go around and change drive mappings on all the PCs!
The problem is how to configure the TeraStation to "replace" the D: data drive?
