LS-WSX1.0TL/R1WH need to recover

Hi

I have a LS-WSX1.0TL/R1WH that had no hard drives in it.  I also have two new blank 1tb drives to go in it.

When switching it on, the blue power LED flashing on and off for a bit, whilst the green activity LED is flickering.  Eventually I'm left with steady or flickering green LED, and 6 flashes of red LED.

After reading around, I was hoping I could simply download the correct TFTP package and the correct Firmware, enable debug and then recover my device.

After lots of broken links to TFTP packages, I found the following sites

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B_oFnRRMAwk0SkYtdGpSdTNKTk0&usp=sharing#list
http://www.nas-hilfe.de/downloadbereich/category/8-tftp-boot-recovery

But I'm not 100% sure if any of those are correct for me or not.

I'm sure I read to use TFTP Boot Recovery LS-WXL 1.33.exe (but can't find that now), so I ran that, in both normal mode and safe mode.  My nic has static IP of 192.168.11.1, i've disabled wifi too, connected with a known good ethernet cable.

My unit has a 3 position power switch and a function button.  So it sounds like I need to hold the fuction button for 5 seconds.  Power LED starts flashing and if I do an "arp -a" then I can see my NAS MAC address with an IP Address of 192.168.11.150 (that only appears after holding the function button in)

TFTP doesn't budge though, it says

listening On: 192.168.11.1:69

bit just sits waiting on

accepting requests..

I found a site that gives some instructions for something similar

http://ukblog.im-mobility.com/recovering-buffalo-terastation-pro-e06-lost-boot-image-error

But that TFTP program doesn't respond to the NAS either.

Am I doing something completely wrong?  I guess I need to try it on another machine when I can, in case that is the cause.  Which is the correct TFTP package to use, or can I make my own?

Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree competely?

Many thanks
Pete

Managed to find an alternative PC to try it on, only one NIC on it and TFTP worked, was able to then force firmware update and set back to English.

Wish it had worked on my laptop though, even after disabling wifi and removing my work vpn software which had created a dummy NIC it wouldn't work.  the alternative TFTP program I tried allows you to easily specify which NIC to be listening on also.

Anyway, sorted now
