Howdy,

I would like to have 2 different windows 7 clients attach to my linkstation duo (LS-WVL), one with full access and the other with read-only. From the documentation I've read it seems that the permissions are set on the linkstation side, but I would like to set it to full access and be able to restrict the one client to read-only from the windows side. How can this be done?

Thanks

This cannot be done on windows side. Only thing you can do is create 2 users and then enable folder restrictions and set one for read/write, and the other for read only. The next thing i would do after all that is go to control panel, change view by to large or small icons either or. then click on Credential Manager and add both the ip and name of the linkstation in there with the password and username you want the pc to use. This why you dont get prompted to type the username and password when trying to access the linkstation from either pc.
Units I own: TS-XL, TS-WXL, LS-WVL, TS-RXL,  TS5400, TS-RVHL,

I don't work for Buffalo but i do love there products enough to help people
