Dear all,

my HD-QS4.0TSU2/R5EU has been unused for some time and now I want to put it back to work.
When last used I had it in RAID mode and now I need it to be set up in JBOD mode.
So I started the configuration utility, but it requests a password for changing the RAID configuration.
Needless to say: I cannot remember the password - even the hint is helpless.
Is there a way to reset the password or put the device to factory defaiults (which hopefully resets the password too)?

Thank you!

  Lothar

P.S.:
Inbetween I read out the contents of the internal 24C64 EEPROM.
At the end of the memory space there is the password hint in plain text, but unfortnately nothing that reminds me of the password itself.
I'm not sure if it's ok to post the content of the EEPROM here, because I think that might violate copyrights.

Hi there,

I solved the problem.

Using a debugger I opened the management software and selected "Reset password".
I entered some random password and just skipped the validity check in the debugger.
Voila: The password was reset.
The device works fine now in JBOD mode.
