I've always used the LS to stream music through the PS3 (both wired to the router, not wireless) and up until recently it's been very good. I updated the firmware to 1.60 a couple of weeks ago and put an extra 215Gb of files on the LS too (only taking it to 63% full). Over the past week, when playing music, the music stops and continues a few times before stopping completely.

The only thing I can think of is to defragment the LS, but I've read that it doesn't need this. The file system is XFS as standard and I couldn't find a tool on the Mac that would do this anyway. After multiple restarts and initialising the LS again, it still hasn't gone away.

Any suggestions on speeding up the LS, or what could be wrong, would be greatly appreciated.

Paul
