I recently setup a WHR-HP-G54 routerAfter setup was complete the router was working perfectly until I changed the administrative passwordAfter the password was changed I was locked out of the routerThe router continued to function perfectly except that I could not login as rootI have completely reset the router and after changing the password I had the same resultIt seems that any password other than the default (blank) causes me to be locked out of the routerAny suggestions to solve this problem?

Ollie

Ditto here too. After reading your experience, I just reset the router and left the defaults in place - not my first choice.

try typing the first 8 characters of your password.  It will only store up to 8 characters.

Ollie

Thanks for the suggestion but, my password was only 8 characters.

We tried testing for this but could not replicate your problem.  Try updating the firmware and then change the password.  Let me know if you have any success.

Thank you for the suggestion.  This may be the answer I need as I was using a 10 character password.
