Shared Folder Creation on LS-WTGL/R1-V3 F/W 3.09

1) Model Number: LS-WTGL/R1-V3

2) Firmware Version 3.09

3) Accessing via Windows XP Machine with either IE 8 or Firefox 3.5.5.

 

This storage unit was working perfectly fine when IT decided to reformat it and make it available for another part of the office.  Reformatting went fine with no known/observed issues.  A couple of weeks later, when it was finally transferred to be used for another purpose, we are no longer able to create shared folders on it.  Here's where we're at so far:

 

A) Was able to login using default admin password of "password."  Changed the password.

B) Was able to create a new user without any problem.

C) Click on "Shared Folders" and see the "Shared Folders Setup" screen as expected.

D) There are two existing shared folders - "Info" and "RAID Array 1".  I believe those are there by default, if my memory serves me correctly.  No problems so far.

E) However, the "Add" button (as well as the "delete" button) is grayed out and there doesn't seem to be any way to get it to be selectable.  Therefore, I can't see how to add a shared folder.

 

I've checked the users manual and this support forum but can't seem to find this mentioned anywhere.  I think this has got to be a mistake on my part and that there's some "switch" that I need to flip first, but I can't seem to find anything.

I would try force flashing the firmware.  If theres no data on the unit (doesnt seem like it but just in case) then I would also check the option to rebuild partition table.  This will wipe the unit clean and should fix the gui issue.
