All four disks on a  TS PROII HTGL/RS  (2TB) were replaced and now the NAS Navi regards the new HDD´s as unformatted. (TFTP boot does not help as when trying to write the firmware on the TS, there is an error message)

Is there a tool to preformat the harddrives on a WIN - PC for use in the TS or what would be the commands in a Linux terminal window to format the disks, so that they work in the Terastation ?  (sorry, I´m  a Linux beginner)

You need to flash the firmware of the unit and the unit will then format the discs and let you create a new raid.

   Thanks for your help.

I can flash the PRO II with the TFTP - tool and then the NAS-Navi finds it, but when trying to put the firmware on, I get the following message:

"Couldn´t confirm that a partition exists on the target. Updater will format the target and will update the target. All of data will be lost."

when I confirm with "ok" the following message appears:

"failed to formatting ACP_STATE_FAILURE updating is aborted"

(I have to mention, that there are only 2 HD-drives installed at present, as the 2 other drives failed)

Well the two drives are going to be your first problem. Then try again. You can attempt to try again with just the two drives in safe mode or on another computer, but you should really get all 4 drives in there.
