LS-CHL 500GB, random problems persist after 1.07 upgrade

I bought a 500GB Linkstation Live and I'm beginning to regret it.

The "mac compatible" claim is not supported by your firmware update policy: BTW when will I be able to do the upgrades myself, without asking people to lend me a pc just to install the latest firmware?

 

After experiencing some well known problems with bittorrent and other glitches, I decided to upgrade. I repeatedly upgraded the firmware (now I use 1.07, but weirdly i upgraded on a previous date than the one reported in the current 1.07 update, has there been any unreported change in the meanwhile?).

 

All of the problems I experienced, except the delete permission, persist.

- bt loses settings (including up/down ratio) every now and then, hogging the upload bandwidth

- the web interface is very slow

- after the 1.07 update, i can no longer access my usb drive (which previously worked) nor is it seen by the web interface (tried also with other drives, the usb port looks 100% toast)

- whenever i switch the usbdisk on, the nas freezes and disconnects from finder and guess what? loses bt settings hogging the whole upload bw

 

Any suggestion available? Any mac firmware coming soon?

I have requested that a mac firmware update be made available. We only have control over the US website, so you may need to email European support to get them to post one.

 

In the web interface, try resetting it to defaults from Maintenance->Initialization, Restore. See what issues persist after that.
