Hi,

I have a HD-CE2 1TB drive and am running windows xp but I experiencing extremely slow transfer speeds, it me 7 hours to transfer 50GB of data

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Louis

Dustrega

roboticsound,

What format is the drive in? FAT32? NTFS?

roboticsound

It's in FAT32. Do you think it would make that much of a difference? I have another HD that is also FAT32 and it works fine.

Also, I've tried using convert.exe to convert it as it has a lot of data that I don't want to lose but it comes up with something like "Disk is Dirty". I am currently running the disk check but that is also taking forever to complete (been running for about 2.5 hours and is about half complete).

Dustrega

roboticsound,

I would recommend formatting it to NTFS as that could have an effect on the transfer speed. Also, how old is the computer? Dependent of age the computer could have USB 1.1 or 2.0 which could also affect the transfer speed.

Hey,

Thanks for your input.

The computer is relatively new (1yr) and quite decent spec. it is usb 2.0

If this disc check ever finishes, i'll again to convert the disc to NTFS as I really dont want to format as I have a lot of data and nowhere else to put + if it dosnt make things faster i dont fancy waiting to transfer it all back on!
